Staff Training and Development

The National Clinical Trials Governance Framework, against which hospitals conducting clinical trials are assessed, states:

Action 1.20

The health service organisation uses its training systems to:

a. Assess the competency and training needs of its workforce

b. Implement a mandatory training program to meet its requirements arising from these standards

c. Provide access to training to meet its safety and quality training needs

d. Monitor the workforce’s participation in training.

This means that campus staff working in clinical trial, and clinical trial-related roles need to have the right education, training, qualifications and skills to perform in their roles.

MCTC194a outlines the Trial-Specific Qualification, Education, and Training responsibilities of Clinical Trials Team members. This includes GCP Training, Sponsor-specific and Protocol-specific training, and documentation requirements (training log, delegation log).

CRDO has a lot of ongoing projects in this space, and we will be using this page to update you, so stay tuned for updates!
