What we do
The Clinical Research Development Office (CRDO) was established to facilitate, and increase campus capacity for, clinical and public health research across the Melbourne Children's campus - MCRI, The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) and the University of Melbourne.
There are numerous initiatives CRDO has implemented to equip new and current researchers with the resources and tools they require to conduct high quality research. You can learn more about these at the Research LaunchPad and CRDO Training page.
The procedures and guidance developed by CRDO, alongside our various education and training offerings, encompass best practice principles, as well as covering many aspects of the regulatory frameworks under which research must be conducted.
Qualitative research support for projects (large and small) is available through CRDO. Murdoch Children's Research Institute (MCRI) Qualitative Research Lead is a member of the CRDO team, and they provide training and research support to researchers conducting qualitative and mixed methods projects across the Melbourne Children’s campus. See the Qualitative Research page to find out more.
Support is available for researchers at all stages of clinical research, from planning through to running your trial, data analysis, and dissemination of results.
CRDO is funded by the MCRI and works in close collaboration with the Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics Unit (CEBU), RCH Research Ethics and Governance (REG) Office and other MCRI groups within the Melbourne Children’s campus. CRDO sits within the Melbourne Children's Trial Centre.
